Football, have we missed the boat?

Jamaica was booted from the 2018 World Cup qualifications after losing 2-0 to Panama. To add ignomity to that defeat we lost 2-0 to Haiti in our final game to finish at the bottom of the standings. There has been a lot of soul searching after those two defeats. It seems that every time the World Cup qualifications come around we use the same template that was used to qualify us in 1998. But it's not working and five times tried since then and five times failed should convince the authorities that they need to try another method.

Bubbles’ Baby by Austin Mitchell As I drove into Creighton on my way to Latore’s Ridge a young lady waved me down. When I stopped the car and she came up to it, I recognized her as ‘Bubbles’ Kenton, one of my former students. “Teacher, can I beg you a ride to Rennals?” “Sure, Bubbles, get in.” I opened the car door for her and she got in. She had a young baby with her, but I noticed that she didn’t have a bag, although the baby was wrapped in a towel. “Your first baby, Bubbles?” I asked as I drove off the car. “He’s Leta’s baby, teacher. Jamaica Creative Writer's Conference

How about a creative writers conference? This would bring together some of Jamaica's best creative writers to share ideas. I'm putting it out there because as far as I know there is not a lot going for creative writers. Can anybody make a living out of creative writing in Jamaica?
