St. Mary's College withdraws from 2021-2022 Manning Cup

By now this must be stale news, but St. Mary's College have withdrawn from the Manning Cup. They were hammered 13-0 and 26-0 by St. Georges College and St. Catherine High, two Catholic schools. When I attended we just had over 200 students on roll but now we haved over 1,000. It maybe due to a lack of coaches. I looked up the records and we actually won or shared the Walker Cup one year. I wonder if any pre-season matches weere played to see how rfeady the team was for real competition. These types of scores were quite embarrassing and they need to do an assessment of what the team needs to compete in these competitions before </b>they run on to any football field.

BUBBLE'S BABY-An Excerpt

Bubbles’ Baby by Austin Mitchell As I drove into Creighton on my way to Latore’s Ridge a young lady waved me down. When I stopped the car and she came up to it, I recognized her as ‘Bubbles’ Kenton, one of my former students. “Teacher, can I beg you a ride to Rennals?” “Sure, Bubbles, get in.” I opened the car door for her and she got in. She had a young baby with her, but I noticed that she didn’t have a bag, although the baby was wrapped in a towel. “Your first baby, Bubbles?” I asked as I drove off the car. “He’s Leta’s baby, teacher. Jamaica Creative Writer's Conference

How about a creative writers conference? This would bring together some of Jamaica's best creative writers to share ideas. I'm putting it out there because as far as I know there is not a lot going for creative writers. Can anybody make a living out of creative writing in Jamaica?
