Jamaica's Film Industry

Jamaica's film industry or a lack of it can be put down to the lack of creative writers. Don't get me wrong, there are many creative writers in Jamaica but are they being used by the film industry. For a film industry to grow and prosper it has to depend on the creative writing talents available. This is where the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission(J.C.D.C) could prove useful by having exhibitions and inviting creative writers to exhibit their works. Local playwrights, novelists, short story writers and script writers need an outlet for their work. Recently I saw documentary on the top twenty female and male actors in Nigeria. All of them are  worth hundreds of millions of Jamaican dollars when we convert the naira.
