My Books on Amazon

I now have six books on Amazon. They are two novels and four anthologies of short stories. If readers want to read some of my stories, they can go to typotic.com. I really enjoy writing and I want to continue doing so. However I have to work at the moment I still have to be going into past savings to make ends meet. Because of my age I am finding it very hard to land a full time job. One of the things about writing is not to rush to publish but to put aside the manuscript for a few weeks then take it up back and do a complete edit.

BUBBLE'S BABY-An Excerpt

Bubbles’ Baby by Austin Mitchell As I drove into Creighton on my way to Latore’s Ridge a young lady waved me down. When I stopped the car and she came up to it, I recognized her as ‘Bubbles’ Kenton, one of my former students. “Teacher, can I beg you a ride to Rennals?” “Sure, Bubbles, get in.” I opened the car door for her and she got in. She had a young baby with her, but I noticed that she didn’t have a bag, although the baby was wrapped in a towel. “Your first baby, Bubbles?” I asked as I drove off the car. “He’s Leta’s baby, teacher. Jamaica Creative Writer's Conference

How about a creative writers conference? This would bring together some of Jamaica's best creative writers to share ideas. I'm putting it out there because as far as I know there is not a lot going for creative writers. Can anybody make a living out of creative writing in Jamaica? I don't know but if anybody in Jamaica is making a living out of creative writing then they ought to be saluted.
