ANOTHER CRIME FIGHTING MEASURE?

I penned this letter to a newspaper but never spent it. The Editor Sir, It might not be a crime fighting measure but I believe it's time where just like in the United States the license plates of all vehicles should be identified by the parish in which the owner lives or operates the vehicle. If such a system were introduced into Jamaica I don't think most of those gangsters could move so easily between parishes as most of them are mobile.Readers remember my books on Amazon.com, payhip.com and lulu. BUBBLE'S BABY-An Excerpt

Bubbles’ Baby by Austin Mitchell As I drove into Creighton on my way to Latore’s Ridge a young lady waved me down. When I stopped the car and she came up to it, I recognized her as ‘Bubbles’ Kenton, one of my former students. “Teacher, can I beg you a ride to Rennals?” “Sure, Bubbles, get in.” I opened the car door for her and she got in. She had a young baby with her, but I noticed that she didn’t have a bag, although the baby was wrapped in a towel. “Your first baby, Bubbles?” I asked as I drove off the car. “He’s Leta’s baby, teacher. I don’t have any children yet. She’s gone for an interview in Kingston so she begged me to keep him for her.” I used to teach both Bubbles and Leta at Mc Cauley High School in Oakley district. Jamaica Creative Writer's Conference

How about a creative writers conference? This would bring together some of Jamaica's best creative writers to share ideas. I'm putting it out there because as far as I know there is not a lot going for creative writers. Can anybody make a living out of creative writing in Jamaica?
