That NHT Study

I agree with some of what came out in the recent study. I think that what should happen is that the contributions to the N.H.T should be reduced and put on the N.I.S. I got a benefit from the N.H.T but the way they make these houses there is no room for expansion. It makes no sense for the Trust be accumulating billions while Jamaicans go without houses that they should have been providing. It makes no sense for it to be there just for the politicians to use it for one thing or another. As it is right now it seems that certain sections of our population will never benefit from the NHT. This is because their salary is too low.

Bubbles’ Baby by Austin Mitchell As I drove into Creighton on my way to Latore’s Ridge a young lady waved me down. When I stopped the car and she came up to it, I recognized her as ‘Bubbles’ Kenton, one of my former students. “Teacher, can I beg you a ride to Rennals?” “Sure, Bubbles, get in.” I opened the car door for her and she got in. She had a young baby with her, but I noticed that she didn’t have a bag, although the baby was wrapped in a towel. “Your first baby, Bubbles?” I asked as I drove off the car. “He’s Leta’s baby, teacher. Jamaica Creative Writer's Conference

How about a creative writers conference? This would bring together some of Jamaica's best creative writers to share ideas. I'm putting it out there because as far as I know there is not a lot going for creative writers. Can anybody make a living out of creative writing in Jamaica?
